The PEI Reproductive Rights Organization (PRRO) is a group formed in 2011 in Charlottetown, PEI. Our goal is to inform PEI residents of their reproductive rights resulting from 1988’s Supreme Court ruling — rights that have been denied in Prince Edward Island ever since. We hope to challenge the current legislation in PEI and make abortion accessible to Islanders, as the federal legislation states it should be.
To inform, to enlighten, to ensure.
To make Islanders aware of the reproductive rights to which women are entitled, as decreed by the Canadian government in 1988.
To align Prince Edward Island’s reproductive health care with that of the rest of Canada.
We ask that the province of Prince Edward Island examine its current policy of prohibiting local access to safe, funded abortions.
